Welcome to LodgingGuide's hospitality industry listings for the Fort Myers area.
The Lee Island Coast is comprised of Sanibel and Captiva Islands, Fort Myers Beach, Fort Myers, Cape Coral, Bonita Springs, Estero, North Fort Myers, Pine Island, Boca Grande, Lehigh Acres, and hundreds of islands in the Gulf of Mexico. Here is one of the last remaining areas where you can still see how Florida was before the population invasion and
construction boom. The beaches still are relatively empty, and if you take a side trip east of Fort Myers, on State Road 80, alongside the Caloosahatchee River which runs from Fort Myers, through Lake Okeechobee to the oceanbound St. Lucie Canal, you will feel as though time has stood still for a hundred years. Spanish moss hangs in abundance, partially concealing stately old Florida farm homes, and a canoeing trip through the maze of canals along the River will reveal incredible residences, private golf courses and landing strips not accessible or even visible from the roads. Fort Myers has its share of fine restaurants, great inns and resorts, but it is the unhurried pace and the natural, unaltered beauty of the land which are its most compelling attributes.
